ECLIPSE OF SIN

It’s vanity for the moon to boast
how brightly it shines at night
essentially it owns not the light
though the men it dazzles with its
brilliance are oblivious of the sun
from whose shine the moon reflects.
Similarly, how then is it  not vanity
for men to boast of their succcesses
and forget that glory is not theirs
but his whose grace makes them shine?
Sadly, just like the moon, it’s often that
the world comes between man and source
making a notable eclipse of sin
such that only a fraction of man shines
drawing pity to wasted potential.
